Classic sausage pasta sauce. Awesome over brown rice pasta!
Squeeze sausages out of their casings into a large skillet. Break up sausage with a spatula while browning it with the garlic and onions. Add mushrooms and continue to brown until the liquid is expressed from the mushrooms. Drain mixture and return to skillet. Add basil and oregano. Add tomatoes and sauce. Simmer for 15 minutes ( while you are cooking the pasta). Adjust salt, pepper and sweetener to taste while simmering. You can also add more basil or oregano to taste. Serve over 1/2 cup of cooked pasta or mix two cups of cooked pasta into sauce. Carb count is including mushrooms, but not including any pasta.
