This is used as the base to many of my recipes, its so easy to make and very simple. 1/2 cup is one serving... I'm not entirely sure how much one batch makes.
on medium-low heat, add olive oil and crushed garlic cloves to a large skillet and let garlic become slightly browned in the oil. You should be able to smell a strong aroma.
Add the canned tomatoes along with the salt and pepper and reduce heat to low.
Simmer for one hour, stirring occasionally... The olive oil and garlic should "unfuse" its flavor into the tomatoes in that hour.
You can add in basil or other seasonings if you want to add flavor, there really aren't any rules.
