Homemade Enchilada Sauce

A homemade red enchilada sauce. Way better than canned, but I'm probably biased :)


  • 16 oz. tomato sauce
  • 4 oz. canned diced green chilies


  1. Combine all ingredients in food processor. Puree until well mixed.

  2. If you don't plan to use immediately, may place in freezer container and freeze. Will need to complete step 3 once you thaw. Heating time may increase on frozen sauce - whisking helps bring it back to an even consistency.

  3. If plan on using: Place sauce in saucepan and heat over med-low heat approximately 5 minutes or until heated through.
