I do heavy landscaping and need more than plain water to power me through these hot days. I love carbonated beverages, so I add actual fruits to fizzy water instead of the light fruit juices I used to add. I don't have a blender or food processor, so I use a small juicer, which is why my prep time is so long.
I think this contains 1 1/2 carbs, but fractions were not on the drop-down menu.
My largest air-tight bottle is 64 oz., which accounts for the amounts of ingredients I use.
Put the peeled fruit into a blender or food processor if you have one, and blend until the fruit sections are cut into pieces small enough to swallow easily. Using a juicer, I collect all the pulp as well as the juice. Pour the fruit mixture into a large air-tight container, and top off the container with cold fizzy water.
This lasts me about 3 hours doing heavy work, and keeps my energy level constant. If anyone knows what to add to balance electrolytes or otherwise make this more of a complete sports drink, please let us know.
