Got a craving for chocolate? Try this quick and healthy recipe for a sweet treat that will leave you feeling satisfied, but not guilty. I usually eat cocoa nibs by themselves when I am craving the taste of chocolate (they only have 150 calories per 1/4 cup and are SUPER healthy), but I make these bonbons when I am craving a little sweetness with my chocolate.
Place dates in a food processor and process until dates are very finely chopped. Add cocoa nibs and process until they are mixed into the dates. Roll mixture into apx 1" balls. Enjoy! Try to stick to just one or two of these. Even though the cocoa nibs are fairly low in calories, dates are about 23 calories each, so each of these bonbons has apx 55 calories, if you are concerned about calorie count. Each bonbon has apx 2 carbs (a little less than 2 dates each plus the cocoa nibs).
