Making coconut milk couldn't be easier! It’s just blending water and shredded coconut and squeezing the milk out of it. You will notice right away this homemade version is much tastier and healthier than any store bought canned brand.

    1 c. shredded coconut

    1 1/2 c. water

You will also need a blender, cheesecloth (or nutmilk bag), and large bowl.

Add shredded coconut to the blender. Pour boiling or hot water over shredded coconut. Let sit for 10-15 minutes. Blend at high speed for 2-3 minutes. Pour the pulp (from the blender) into the cheesecloth over a large bowl. Wring the coconut milk out from the cheesecloth until there is only dry pulp in the cheesecloth and coconut milk in the bowl.
