Last time I checked, Horizon organic butter was at least 8 bucks. This homemade butter blows it away and is super easy.
2 pt. whipping cream, heavy, full-fat, raw, grass-fed or pastured, organic
sea salt to taste
Pour the cream into a mason jar, one pint at a time, and screw the lid on tight. Shake the jar. It takes a little time, but you can see the cream getting thicker and finally it breaks into the beginnings of the butter and a thin buttermilk. Keep shaking until the butter solidifies together into a sort of sphere. Pour out the buttermilk into a separate container. Plop the butter into a bowl and work sea salt into it with a fork. Less than 10 minutes later you have the best butter ever. Try it! It's no big deal!
