Sweet Potato, Kale, and Turkey Chili

Hearty, bean-free turkey chili!


    1 tbsp. butter

    1 lbs. ground turkey

    1/2 tsp. ground cumin

    1/2 tsp. sea salt

    1/2 med. onion

    3 clove garlic

    1 1/2 c. diced tomatoes, fresh

    1 med. sweet potato

    1 1/2 c. tomato sauce

    3/4 c. water

    1/4 tsp. chili powder

    1/4 tsp. paprika

    1 c. kale


Add butter to a large skillet over medium heat.

Add turkey and sauté until browned. Season with cumin and salt. When the meat is fully cooked, add chopped onion and garlic, and continue to cook for about 3 minutes. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add diced tomatoes, peeled and diced sweet potato, tomato sauce, water, and remaining seasonings. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 20 minutes, until potatoes are soft and cooked through. Add chopped kale and stir until it’s wilted.

Optional: Top with sliced jalapeno for an extra kick!
