Super Yummy Black Bean Burgers

This is the most delicious black bean recipe I have found so far! I served mine topped with sauteed mushrooms instead of a bun.


    4 tsp. wheat-free soy sauce

    4 tsp. ground cumin

    1 tsp. sea salt

    2 tbsp. yeast, active, dry

    2 tbsp. tahini

    2 1/2 c. black beans, cooked or canned, organic

    1 c. oat flour

    1 c. white mushrooms

    2/3 onion

    3 garlic

    3 tsp. lime juice

    4 tsp. worcestershire sauce


Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl until well mixed. Chill in the refrigerator for an hour or so (warning: the batter will rise a little bit, so make sure your bowl is large enough to accommodate this so you won't have to clean up a mess in your refrigerator like I did) Pour some olive oil into a large, non-stick fry pan. Drop heaping tablespoons of batter into hot oil and flatten to desired thickness with a spoon. Fry on both sides until crispy on the outside and the desired consistency on the inside. Since this recipe doesn't contain eggs, you can decide what firmness you would like them to be without worrying about getting them to the correct internal temperature. Serve them with or without hamburger buns. I served mine without buns, and topped with mushrooms cooked in garlic flavored olive oil...SUPER YUMMY!
