The search for the perfect french toast recipe is over. This chocolatey and healthy french toast is a must try.

Ingredients

    1 c. almond milk

    1 tsp. vanilla extract

    1 tsp. cinnamon

    1/2 c. mixed berries

    1/4 tsp. nutmeg

    1/4 tsp. ground allspice

    2 egg

    1/4 c. almond butter

    2 tbsp. cacao powder

    1/2 c. Greek yogurt

    4 tbsp. honey, raw

2 slc. sprouted whole grain bread

Directions

Mix the almond butter with the cacao powder, and stir in half of the honey. To lighten the "Nutella" spread, add the Greek yogurt. Continue mixing until all four ingredients blend in nicely.

Spread a generous amount of the healthy "Nutella" on a slice of sprouted grain bread, and then sandwich with another slice of bread.

Prepare the egg mixture by mixing the whole eggs, vanilla extract, almond milk, and cinnamon. You can add nutmeg and allspice if you want, but it still tastes great without these.

Soak the "Nutella" sandwich in the egg mixture then put it in a hot non-stick pan (skip adding oil or butter). Fry this until it's brown, flip the sandwich and brown the other side. The goal is to make the outside brown and toasty, while the inside is smooth and creamy. Remove from the pan and cut into 3 slices.

Add mixed berries in the pan and cook until they are soft. Add the remaining honey, and mix well with the berries until they are well coated and they have soaked in the sweetness of the honey. Place the caramelized mixed berries on top of the french toast.

This is a superb french toast recipe that kids and kids at heart will surely enjoy! It's a chocolatey french toast indulgence without the guilt! ;)
