Making cabbage Rolls is time consuming and well worth the wait.....But when you're on a crunch for time THIS is the best way to make it! Has all the same flavor but MUCH easier to prepare!
1 lbs. ground beef
1 med. onion
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. carrot
3 c. cabbage
1 tsp. sea salt
1 dsh. black pepper
1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. fresh chives
1/2 c. pepper jack cheese
15 oz. tomato sauce
In a medium skillet Saute onion in butter until soft, but not brown. Add ground beef. Cook breaking up the meat until it loses its pink color.
In a 2 quart buttered casserole dish, Layer the carrots and HALF of the cabbage. Sprinkle with the sea salt and pepper.
Add Meat mixture, press down slightly. Add remaining cabbage.
To Spaghetti sauce add Worcestershire sauce and chives in a bowl. Then Pour over the top of the casserole.
COVER, and bake at 350 for about an hour or until the cabbage is soft.
Sprinkle with cheese on top and back UNCOVERED for an additional 5 min.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
