This is one of my favorite snacks! Apple butter goes great on a slice of sprouted grain bread, stirred into oatmeal or Greek yogurt, and paired with other fruits and nuts.
1/4 c. honey, raw
3 tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
12 med. red apple
Peel, core, and chop apples. Put them in a crockpot. (You can use as many apples as you'd like, and whatever kind you want! I used Red Delicious, but others would work too.) Sprinkle apples with spices and add honey. Set the crockpot to low for 8 hours. After 6 hours have passed, mash the apples (a potato masher works best!). When the 8 hours is up, pulse the apple butter a couple of times in a food processor or blender. Let it cool, move to an airtight container, and store in the refrigerator.
