This sauce is freshly made with home grown tomatoes (canned). Tastes very authentic Italian.
4 c. whole peeled plum tomatoes, canned
1 sweet onion
3 clove garlic
1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
sea salt to taste
Sauté chopped onions in olive oil about 4 minutes. Add tomatoes (fresh or canned) and garlic. Season with sea salt to taste. Make sure to crush tomatoes. The goal is to simmer until thickened and smoother, not lumpy, about 20 minutes.
