Fran's Homemade Ketchup

My dear friend Fran developed this recipe in her kitchen and shared it with me. It's an excellent healthy alternative to commercial ketchup.


    6 oz. tomato paste

    6 oz. tomato sauce

    1/4 c. apple cider vinegar

    1 tsp. sea salt

    1 1/2 tsp. onion powder

    stevia to taste


Bring all ingredients to a boil in a stainless steel pan and simmer 30 minutes, stirring often.

Cover until cool. Store in the fridge in a glass storage jar.

This makes about 1 quart of ketchup; one serving is 2 tablespoons.
