I have never had success with cut-out biscuits until I found this recipe. My whole family LOVES these and the nutty flavor. They puff up so beautifully!
1 c. spelt flour
1/2 tbsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. sea salt
3 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. milk, raw or organic
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Mix all the dry ingredients together.
Cut the butter into the dry ingredients.
Slowly add the milk to dry ingredients and mix just until all is blended and moist.
Pat onto a floured surface. Shape with hands (no need to use a rolling pin).
Cut and placed onto a baking sheet.
Bake at 450 degrees for about 15 minutes (the biscuits will puff up and you will see "layers" when done).
