A touch of pumpkin makes the chili taste like fall!

  • 1 tbs. coconut oil, raw, extra-virgin, organic
  • 2 lbs. turkey, ground, grass-fed or pastured, organic
  • 1 sml. onion, any type, organic
  • 3 garlic, fresh, organic
  • 2 tsp. cumin powder, organic
  • 30 oz. beans, great northern, organic
  • 15 oz. pumpkin puree, 100% pure, canned, organic
  • 4 oz. chili pepper, green, can, organic
  • 2 c. chicken broth, organic, free-range
  • 1 tsp. chili powder, organic
  • 1 tsp. oregano, ground, organic
  • 2 bay leaf, organic
  • sea salt, unrefined, & fresh ground pepper, organic to taste

Heat coconut oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add turkey and cook, breaking it up until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Drain and add to crock pot.

Add a bit more oil and saute onion (chopped) and garlic (minced) until soft. Add cumin and saute another minute. Add to crock pot.

Add beans (drained and rinsed), pumpkin puree, green chilies (chopped), broth, chili powder, oregano, bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.

Remove bay leaves and adjust seasoning to taste.
