This is my "clean" version of my french toast recipe.
4 slc. sprouted whole grain bread
2 lrg. egg
1/4 c. milk, raw or organic
1 tbsp. coconut sugar
1 tsp. seasoning, Chinese 5 Spice, powdered, organic
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. coconut oil
Mix together coconut sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla in a bowl (add Chinese 5 spice powder if you want).
In a separate bowl, beat together egg and milk. Add coconut sugar mixture to the bowl, and stir to combine it all.
Soak bread slices to your desired level of moisture - more well soaked makes it almost like bread pudding when cooked.
Spread 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in a pan and cook the french toast for a total of 3 minutes on each side, flipping after 1 minute.
Serve with butter and maple syrup. Garnish with strawberries, blueberries, and/or blackberries. This is a sweet french toast so you can eat it just plain as well.
