Yummy twist to the traditional hummus made with garbanzo beans.
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. paprika
15 oz. canned black beans
1 clove garlic
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 1/2 tbsp. tahini
3/4 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp. sea salt
Drain beans and reserve liquid. Mince garlic in bowl of food processor. Add black beans, 2 tablespoons of the reserved liquid, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, tahini, cumin, salt, cayenne pepper; process until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. Add additional seasoning and liquid to taste. Garnish with paprika and serve with fresh veggies.
Each serving is .5 carb (or .5 protein if you are a vegetarian).
