This is used as the base to many of my recipes, it's so easy to make and very simple. 1/2 cup is one serving... I'm not entirely sure how much one batch makes.
5 clove garlic
2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
sea salt & black pepper to taste
56 oz. canned whole tomatoes, peeled
Over medium-low heat, add olive oil and crushed garlic cloves to a large skillet and let garlic become slightly browned in the oil. You should be able to smell a strong aroma.
Add canned tomatoes along with sea salt and pepper. Reduce heat to low.
Simmer for one hour, stirring occasionally... the olive oil and garlic should "infuse" their flavor into the tomatoes in that hour.
You can add in basil or other seasonings if you want... there really aren't any rules!
