Almonds are great to eat when paired with a carbohydrate because it helps slow down digestion and the breakdown of sugar. This easy-to-make snack can be prepared within 10 minutes, is jam-packed with protein, and tastes great.
4 oz. Greek yogurt
1 tbsp. almond butter
1/2 banana
1 tsp. honey, raw
1/2 tbsp. sliced almonds
1 dsh. cinnamon
Place Greek yogurt in a breakfast bowl or similar sized container. Add almond butter and banana, and drizzle honey on top for flavor. Stir with spoon until everything is mixed evenly.
Optional: Add a dash of cinnamon and a pinch of sliced almonds on top for a texture or crunch.
I eat this as an afternoon snack prior to my working out. Settles easy and adds some sweetness to my day.
