Apple butter is one of my all time favorite snacks. And the best part about it (in my mind, anyway) is that it's so easy to make! I want to show you, step by step, how to make this delicious snack.
Here's what you will need:
Here's what to do:
Start by peeling, coring and dicing the apples. Toss the apple pieces into a crockpot. Sprinkle the spices on the apples, and drizzle honey on top.
Cook on low for 6 hours. Then, mash the apples with a potato masher or a fork. Let cook for another 2 hours.
When the apple butter is finished in the slow cooker, move it to a blender or food processor and pulse until it has reached your desired consistency (you may need to do this in batches, depending on the size of your blender or food processor). Move the apple butter to an airtight container, and let cool completely before storing in the refrigerator.
Maybe I was a little quick to tell you the "best part" of apple butter earlier. The BEST part is that there are so many ways to enjoy it!
And the list goes on!
Have you ever had apple butter? What's your favorite way to eat it?
