Healthy Eating

Healthy eating means eating the right foods in the right combinations.
    • Healthy Eating

I absolutely love cooking, and I often call myself a mad scientist in the kitchen, doing my best to come up with healthy alternatives to some of today's most common processed and unhealthy foods.

Today I want to share with you one of my new favorite morning recipes that is jam-packed with incredibly healthy benefits with just a few "shakes."

If you don't already know about the health benefits of turmeric, you might be amazed to know how powerful this little yellow spice can be.

Really, this program is about choices. Life is all about the choices we make. And it’s not only about choices in the foods we eat or don’t eat; it is also very much about the choices we make every day in our attitude and approach. You made a choice to click on an Internet ad. You chose to purchase a program to help you lose weight. Those are clear signs that you want help and you want to change. Whether it’s to lose a few pounds so you can get in to your favorite dress, have more energy, or to improve your thyroid and digestive health, you’re choosing to move in that direction.

The big choice, and this is a big one and THE most important. You’re choosing to COMMIT to a lifestyle change. And the only way you can be successful is by making up your mind that you need and want to change. Once you’ve made that decision, everything that follows will be easier. Notice I didn’t say it would be "easy," only that you will make it that much more likely to succeed in your goals.

Can it really be as simple as choosing not to do something? Or choosing TO DO something? For some, I think it can be; for many others it will be more of a struggle. One of the very first steps I took when I started my new eating lifestyle was to quit drinking soda; specifically Diet Coke. It was my daily coffee. The very first thing I did in the morning was pop open a can of Diet Coke. I think what I really liked was the carbonated jolt that kinda woke me up. One day I just told myself that I no longer drank soda. Literally, one day I had a Diet Coke, the next day, and every day since, I have not had soda of any kind. For me at least, it was that simple. I chose not to drink soda any more. That was over a year ago and I haven’t looked back and I don’t miss it.

Over the years, I have seen some resolutions come true, and some resolutions get left behind on January 1st.

And I started thinking to myself, why is it that we stick to some of our resolutions and some we just never get around to?
