Believe it or not, some 795 million people in the world do not have enough food... that's about 1 in 9 people on this planet.

So today, I am asking you to do one simple thing...

Be grateful for today's meal... no matter what it looks like.

Enjoy this day and remember that even if your plate isn't looking Beyond Diet perfect, the food is plenty and we can be grateful for that.

Can you believe it's almost Thanksgiving?

While I love the family focus of Thanksgiving, I know the other focus – comfort food – can cause a lot of people's good-eating intentions to go out the window.

It doesn't have to be this way though. Thanksgiving does not need to be the start of a month-long downward spiral that only leaves you depressed, defeated, and even more overweight come New Year's Day.

Here are three ways to ensure Thanksgiving is a fun day with family and friends, not a free-for-all food frenzy...

Today I want to talk to you about how I keep up my healthy eating regimen even during all the holiday parties and events.

Yes, it is possible. Stick with me here...

Actually, the strategies you'll find below are NOT just specific for the holidays, you can use these methods for any social gathering and party that you may be attending.

Just last Saturday, I hosted my own little party for the families on my husband's high school football team (he coaches every year). It was really great because we don't see each other too much outside of weekend games

In fact, many of these parents don't know me at all...so they don't know how passionate I am about nutrition and health or that we are completely gluten free and don't eat any processed food. My goal for the party was to choose foods that would make everyone happy, without having to resort to unhealthy "party" foods.
