3 Veggies You Should Never Eat

Adding more vegetables to your diet is a great step in the right direction toward your weight loss goals. Unfortunately, there are a few vegetables I still recommend you avoid whenever possible.

Here are the 3 vegetables you should NOT eat.

1. Corn (GMO)

A large majority of the corn in the United States is genetically modified. What does that mean? Initially, corn was genetically modified in an attempt to make the crops resistant to specific pesticides, making it easier for farmers to grow larger crops because they’d be able to spray pesticides without worrying about killing the corn.

Great, right? Wrong.

Doctors and scientists are concerned about the unknown health consequences related to increased consumption of genetically modified foods. Eating GMO foods has been linked to a long list of serious health problems including reproductive problems, painful digestive disorders, and increased susceptibility to developing allergic reactions to certain foods. If you’re trying to eat a healthy, natural diet, genetically modified foods should definitely be avoided.

2. Microwaveable bags of vegetables

I highly recommend people stay away from microwave ovens. Putting your food through these dangerous micro waves completely damages the molecular structure of the food you are heating up, making it unrecognizable to the body. Completely eliminating or greatly reducing the amount you use your microwave oven will have a significant positive impact on your health and your ability to lose weight.

In addition, any time you heat up plastic, you’re releasing chemicals. Take a look at the bag after it’s been microwaved – the texture changes because it has released dangerous chemicals. When food is wrapped in plastic (as these microwaveable vegetables are) and microwaved, substances used in the manufacturing of the bags may leak into the food.

3. Vegetables prepared in creamy sauces

Take a look at the ingredients in a bag of "lightly sauced" vegetables:

Broccoli, Cauliflower, Water, Carrots, Cheddar Cheese (Pasteurized Whole Milk, Cheese Cultures, Salt, Enzymes, Annatto Color), Contains 2% or Less of Half and Half (Milk, Cream), Nonfat Dry Milk, Food Starch-Modified, Salt, Cheese Flavor [Cheddar and Blue Cheese (Pasteurized Milk, Cheese Cultures, Salt, Enzymes), Whey, Water, Citric Acid, Corn Oil, Yeast Extract, Sweet Cream Powder, Butter (Cream, Salt), Sugar, Dry Mustard, Natural Flavor, Dry Buttermilk, Maltodextrin, Sodium Caseinate, Sodium Citrate], Wheat Flour, Mono and Diglycerides, Xanthan Gum, Guar Gum, Sodium Phosphate, Natural Flavor (Hydrolyzed Corn Gluten, Autolyzed Yeast Extract, Dextrose), Sherry Wine Solids, Onion Powder, Mustard (Distilled Vinegar, Mustard Seed, Salt, White Wine, Citric Acid, Tartaric Acid, Spices, Tocopherols and Ascorbyl Palmitate to Help Protect Flavor), Garlic Powder, Annatto Extract (For Color)

First, that list is VERY long…and quite a few of the ingredients are hard to pronounce. Why would you put all of those things into your body if you can prepare the vegetables yourself and have complete control over what you’re eating? Adding this creamy sauce to your vegetables turns an incredibly healthy side dish into something that resembles a science experiment.

Add some organic cheese, salt and pepper to your veggies and, not only will your meal be more delicious, it will be a much better option to include in your weight loss meal plan.
