3 Keys to Guarantee Weight Loss Success

I find that many people get so "lost" in the midst of celebrations and festivities. But what really happens?

You feel stressed. You over eat. You over spend.

What I am suggesting is that you not ignore YOURSELF. Remember that YOU are more important than any holiday, gift, or party that may come up this season.

"But Isabel, I have SO much to do. It's too hard to take time for myself!!!"

I know, I know. I get it. I have 2 little boys and a long list of to-dos every single day myself.

Here are my suggestions for you to "Protect Your Success" and get through holidays, parties, and celebrations without looking back and thinking, "What the heck happened to me?"

  1. Before you go to bed every night, plan out your food for the next day. This is especially important during the holidays when parties, cookies, and "treats" are abundant everywhere! Use my "leftovers" trick whenever possible. Any time I cook anything, I make sure to cook several servings so leftovers are on hand. I also always keep a few easy staple items on hand like hard boiled eggs, Greek yogurt, raw nuts, and peeled cut carrots for healthy eats on a moment's notice.

  2. Carve out 15-30 minutes of time for yourself 2 times a week, every week (I can already hear all the moms screaming, "WHAT????"). I'm right there with you. The thought of not getting 1 more thing done is frightening, but what I have found is when I make time for myself to read a book, flip through a magazine, or just watch something funny on TV, I am more effective in other areas of my life. Take time for YOU. That is NOT selfish, that is taking care of yourself so you can be at your best for everyone else.

  3. Find 5 minutes to exercise every single day. Studies show that 20-30 minutes of exercise is all that?s needed to see significant health benefits and changes in your body. The best news is that time can be split up however needed. For example, if you get in four 5-minute workouts in one day, that is just as beneficial as getting in one 20-minute workout...great news, right?
