OMGoodness breadless burger!

I never thought I could make a hamburger healthy AND irresistible until I made this tonight!... didn't even miss the mayo :)... not entirely sure if this would count as 1 or 2 carbs though.


5 oz ground beef
1/2 cup julienne onion
2-3 slices tomato
handful broccoli sprouts
2oz avocado
1 collard green leaf
1-2 tsp coconut oil
salt, garlic, and pepper to taste


caramelize the onions with the coconut oil and some salt in a skillet over medium heat.
In the mean time, pat out the hamburger in a plastic bag until it makes a hamburger patty. I made mine more of an oval than a circle so it would fit in the collard green leaf better. Season with pepper and garlic.
turn on the grill to a medium-high heat and add the hamburger patty, cook aprox 4-6 min on each side, depending on desired color (I like mine to have just a little bit of pink in it)
rinse off the collard green leaf and pat dry with a paper towel. cut off the stem of the leaf.
spread on the avocado (I like to mash mine up so its more like a spread) and then cover with the sprouts. top with the tomato slices, beef and the caramelized onion. roll up the collard green leaf like you would a tortilla and enjoy!

Notes: I wrapped mine in a napkin to keep it from falling apart. The sweetness from the onion covered up the coconut taste which was completely fine with me since I'm still warming up to the flavor of coconut.
