For dairy lovers, this is easy, nutritious and so delicious. This yogurt will keep in your frig for 2 weeks or more. Also, if you enjoy yogurt, it is very cost effective.

  • 1 qt. milk, full-fat, raw, grass-fed or pastured cows, organic

Heat milk to a boil. Let cool to lukewarm. (Like the temperature of mothers milk or when you place a finger into the milk you can barely notice a temperature difference between the milk and your finger. I know that's not very scientific but, it works perfectly well.) Preheat oven to 190 degrees. Scoop a ladles of warm milk into a small bowl. Add yogurt and mix completely. (I like Chobani as a starter) Return yogurt mixture to warm milk. Stir thoroughly and cover. Wrap in towel. (Some say this step is not necessary.) Place in warm oven. (I transfer the milk from the pot to a glass container with a cover before placing it in the oven. This makes it easier to keep in the refrigerator after the yogurt has set.) Turn oven OFF. (This is very important!) Let set undisturbed 4-6 hours or best overnight. Remove 2 Tbsp. as starter for your next batch and store in an airtight container. Enjoy! For Greek yogurt, simply use Greek yogurt starter and strain yogurt through cheese cloth. To count it, simply divide the total grams you began with, with the number of servings you ended with. Then use Isabel's guidelines for protein, carbs, and fat grams per serving.
