This is a wonderful way to cook tuna steak on the stovetop. With these ingredients the tuna comes out tasting like steak.

  • 1 tbs. coconut oil, raw, extra-virgin, organic
  • 1 tsp. peppercorns, black, organic
  • 1 tsp. butter, unsalted, organic, raw or unpasteurized, grass-fed/pastured
  • 5 oz. tuna, yellowfin, fresh, wild-caught
  • cayenne pepper, powder, organic to taste
  • sea salt, unrefined, & fresh ground pepper, organic to taste

Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add a small handful of peppercorns into hot oil, and let them cook until they start to pop. When they begin popping, add butter, and swirl it around. Rub cayenne pepper on both sides of tuna steaks. Add tuna steaks to the pan, and season with salt and pepper. Cook two minutes per side for slightly pink center. Remove from pan and enjoy.

Serve with sauteed mixed vegetables (yellow squash, mushrooms, asparagus, onions) and a sliced tomato.
