Here's an awesome (hubby approved!) hot chocolate recipe I came up with that will not require another trip to the grocery store! I'm a hot chocolate lover, and almond or soy milk tastes really weird to me. Melting baking chocolate is wonderful with cream, but it's really hard to get a good consistency when you combine it with anything (milk, almond or water). This recipe is quick, easy, and delicious.

  • 1/8 c. cacao powder, raw, organic
  • 1 indv. stevia, packet
  • 1 pinch sea salt, unrefined and pure
  • 1/4 c. water, purified
  • 2 c. milk, full-fat, raw, grass-fed or pastured cows, organic
  • 1 dsh. vanilla extract, organic

  1. In small saucepan, combine cocoa, stevia, and just a tiny bit of salt (I shake my shaker just once).
  2. Add water and mix well.
  3. Turn on medium heat and heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
  4. Boil, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
  5. Add milk, whisk well.
  6. Heat to hot (NOT boiling), stirring occasionally.
  7. I like 2 drops of NuNaturals Vanilla Stevia in mine. If you don't have Vanilla Stevia, just add a tiny bit of vanilla and your favorite sweetener to taste.
