A delicious different turkey burger. It was really good with the different flavors all combined! Hubby and Kid tested! :)
In a bowl, mix ground turkey, tomato paste, currants, capers, basil, fennel seeds and salt.
Form turkey mixture into four 3/4 inch thick patties.
Coat grill rack or inside pan with oil. I cooked these inside using coconut oil.
Grill/cook patties over medium high heat until underside is well browned, about 7 minutes. Flip and cook About 5 minutes more.
I brushed each turkey patty with a bit of the balsamic vinegar (instead of brushing it on the bun as was suggested).
Then I put about 1 Tablespoon of the cheese on each burger and covered the pan so the cheese would melt. You could use more cheese if you want more Fat for that meal
Cook until internal the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees (maybe another minute or two).
NOW...they suggested to brush the one side of your hamburger bun with the balsamic vinegar, top with a turkey burger, tomato if desired and the other half of the bun.
I served ours without the buns, so I just put a bit of the balsamic vinegar on each burger for the flavor to be there. We had these burgers with homemade sweet potato fries and a salad. It was a great dinner! :)
