In How Goals Get You Where You Want to Go! I shared a bit of a personal story with you that I hope you not only found helpful, but encouraging. It had to do with what I think, is one of the most important steps in any weight loss journey.
Surprisingly enough, it had absolutely nothing to do with food, exercise, calories, or even drinking water?all of which are extremely important, but not what I?m talking about here.
It had to do with goal setting, and specifically, I shared one of my personal strategies for attaining any goal (weight loss or otherwise).? At the end of that article, I asked you to share your specific goal with us in the Share section of Beyond Diet.
Because my second very successful strategy for achieving and accomplishing any goal is share it with a group of people who will encourage you and keep you accountable.
After the birth of my second child, I just could not get myself organized enough to get in any kind of exercise during the week (oh yes, even I struggle sometimes). I decided to get all of my coworkers together and hold a weekly "goals" meeting, where each one of us would pick a specific goal for ourselves and discuss our progress weekly.
What an amazing difference this made for all of us! Somehow, someway, I was able to find just a few minutes three times a week to fit in a great exercise routine...and all it took was sharing my goal with a trusted group to keep me accountable!
And please don't think it always has to be a face-to-face meeting. Phone, Skype, or online work well too). And it also doesn't have to be an entire group. The most important part is that you voice your goal to make it real and recruit your very own squad of cheerleaders to keep you going.
