Does this sound too good to be true? It's not. Today there are ways to shed pounds that do not include lab created pills, sugar-laden diet drinks, unnecessary "diet" food, or dangerous tactics that could put your body and your health in harm's way.

I am talking about small changes that you can implement in your daily routine right now that will have you seeing a positive weight loss in a short amount of time. All you have to do is stick to these strategies and not veer from your ultimate goal of losing weight.

Changes to Undertake If You Wish to Lose Weight

Drink only water. Water is really the only beverage on the face of this earth that can truly quench your thirst. Water purifies our bodies by flushing out waste and toxins that are literally weighing us down. While I always recommend drinking half your body weight in ounces every day, if you are in a rush to lose a couple of pounds in a short amount of time, then go ahead and add more to your daily requirements.

If plain water is not your thing, add a little fresh-squeezed lemon or lime juice. This not only makes the water taste fresher and crisper, it also aids in cleaning your liver - the hardest working fat buster in your body.

Move, move, move. Incorporate movement into your day, all day long. Even the most sedentary jobs can be modified to include movement. Instead of sitting in an office chair, try using an exercise ball instead. These balls make you contract your core muscles and have you working those muscles all the time. Other ways to incorporate movement in your day include:

  • Going for walks during your breaks
  • Taking the stairs wherever possible
  • Use your lunch hour to do some weight-resistance training at the gym
  • Play tag or run relays with your children
  • Ride a bike to your destination
  • Take your dog on an extra walk or two

Bid farewell to anything white. This includes white bread, white pasta, white flour, white sugar, and all things dairy. All of these items are huge contributors of weight gain and weight stasis - and we don't want to hold on to too much weight, now do we? Since you want to lose weight now, you must cut all of the items that have these in their ingredients list. Now don't worry, much of what you cut can be added back, eventually, in different ways. At some point, you can eat bread again, just sprouted grain breads and nothing else. Dairy can also return, eventually, as long as it is raw, organic, and has not undergone any type of processing.

Eat what's natural. Mother Nature has provided a bounty of wonderful tasting foods that are great at burning fat. These include:

  • Berries
  • Citrus
  • Peppers – jalapenos, habaneros, cayenne
  • Protein – organic chicken or turkey, whole sardines, tuna, grass fed beef

Go ahead and try these changes and I promise that you will begin to see a great difference in your waistline, your weight, and your overall well-being.
