Well this morning I am wearing a size 6 pants to work...I am 56 years old and have never in my life wore that size...I was size 14 when I started out. Yikes...
Food for thoughts: Good day BD family!! Today is trick in the kitchen!! Did you know that a mason jar with the small opening fits on your regular blender?? This makes clean-up a breeze!! I like to use it when I'm making salad dressings!! And for an added bonus put some chia seeds in your dressing, they will act as a thickining agent plus you get more nutrition!! How about that for your nice salads!!
i also have concerned about eating eggs.we eat so many eggs here so what about its high cholesterol level and all other side effects.
Well.... On May 1st I got back on the bandwagon (I hadn't fallen entirely off), but stuff keeps happening so I'm getting frustrated. It's really hard to follow it down here in Guatemala in some ways. I was trying what was suggested to me of not having any fruits or grains to speed things up, but am having a hard time being that creative, so out comes the banana at breakfast with our eggs or the rice with the sesame chicken. We've also been dealing with a flea infestation in both our yard and our house due to neighbors' pigs, chickens, etc. about 30' feet from our house. Just about every spare minute has been spent the last 2 weeks dealing with this issue. =\ The other thing is that my stomach just seems to get bigger. I'm having my daughter bring down some diatomaceaous earth hoping to kill off some intestinal parasites. I'm also hoping and praying I can afford to have her bring me some coconut sugar and oil plus a few other things. Prayers and a little encouragement appreciated! =]
Hi BD family! I am hoping that many of you have remembered that thoughts and prayers are needed in Oklahoma, and more importantly MONEY to help these people begin to start their lives over. Please remember to donate to the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army to help the tornado victims. $1, $5, $20......whatever you can afford to give. Together we can make a difference in the lives of all those who were devastated by this horrible tornado.
I'm feeling so hungry and it's only day one - why or why?! I snacked on an extra Lara bar this evening. But my stomach is still grumbling, and I'm feeling both hungry and weak. Maybe this just shows how dependent I've grown on bread, rice, and pasta.
I am so frustrated!!! I went to a company dinner and we were talking about food and a woman was telling me coconut oil is bad for me! I had to bite my tongue. I let it go but I wanted to tell her what I have learned. I lost 12 lbs on this change of life plan on coconut oil so I say PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING. No pun intended.
Hi all! OMG I made the yummiest pancakes this morning! From this website - the cottage cheese pancakes (i added greek yogurt) - YUMMMMM with agave maple and strawberries! After starting my day like that, what could be bad?!?!? Anyway, I hope everyone is having a happy Thursday and just remember one more day 'til the weekend! :) XOXOXO
what would you guys do when you go for camping??as summer is here we would be doing that and i am kinda worried....if any one could help me....
Just made some Paleo Morning Glory Muffins...Hope they taste OK. They have almond flour, carrots, raisins, apple, eggs, coconut oil. unsweetened coconut, cinnamon, vanilla, coconut sugar, baking soda, salt. Everything we are allowed to eat. Not sure how to count it but that is ok.
Hi everyone! I'm just getting started here...just sort of "dabbling" right now. I bought some items tonight (raw honey, coconut oil, organic EVOO, stevia) however, I know that just the little bit I bought was very expensive. I know Isabel says that it doesn't have to be expensive...maybe once my whole family has transitioned to this way of eating, but for now, we will be buying my food and theirs (I know, terrible). One step at a time, I guess. Anyway, how do you all manage to purchase whole organic foods without breaking the bank? The farmers market in my area is MORE expensive than the grocery stores...
I'm trying to order English Toffee Extract to make my own liquid stevia but can only find a 4 oz bottle on Amazon. There is the Amoretti Premium English Toffee Syrup (but that's a syrup, not extract). Do you think it would work to make the liquid stevia? When I made the vanilla one, it called for 7T of vanilla extract I think... Not sure if this would work as a substitute (although not the healthiest option) or if it would be too weak. Thoughts?

I read the email for josh and joel about the one day a week that you dont follow the diet. He talked about eating mac and cheese and pizza. I anyone using this? And if so does it help. I dont really want to eat non BD food. I suppose you could use BD food and just increase your calories? If feels like I am eating more now than before so I a wondering if this is necessary.
I am so proud of what I've accomplished with BD! People around me have noticed physical changes in me! It was only last March 15 this year when I followed the program despite the fact that I purchased it around December 2011. When I read the program back then, I was overwhelmed by too much information and learnings that discouraged me to stay with it. I didn't even start Day 1! Until February of this year, I was categorized as obese by my Doctor and my hypertension shot up to 160 and up and I felt a lot of other physical discomforts. That's when I decided since I have a lifetime membership with BD, I might as well put my mind to it and follow the program. March 15, 2013 my weight was 260 lbs. today, Wednesday is the day I do my weekly weigh in, I now weigh 244 lbs. That's 16 lbs less in 9 weeks! I never have lost this much with all the previous diets I did before BD. And I am totally enjoying the program. I owe my health to Isabel and BD. Thanks again!
Had breakfast kind of late, but definitely worth it..
Spelt Pancakes
scrabble eggs
and some blueberries & strawberries...... mmmm!
